Ordering & Kits
What is included in the Paladien kit?
Your kit includes discreet shipment to your home, collection supplies with clear instructions, overnight return shipping with tracking, lab processing and cryopreservation, access to your secure portal, and one year of storage.
Can I order more than one kit?
Yes! Some clients choose to purchase more than one kit for added flexibility or to support ongoing planning. You can adjust quantity during ordering.
How long does shipping take?
Most kits ship promptly after ordering which means you can expect your kit within 4-5 business days to most locations in the USA. We offer overnight shipping if you would like to receive your kit more quickly. You’ll receive tracking details once your kit is on the way.
Collection & Return
Do I need a clinic or doctor visit to use Paladien?
No clinic or doctor’s office visit is required for the standard at-home process. You’ll receive instructions designed to support a safe, compliant collection experience.
How do I return my kit?
Your return package includes a pre-paid return shipping label that you will put on the return box. Once you have completed collection and followed the included instructions for preparing your sample for storage, you will take the kit to a FedEx facility and give it to a FedEx shipping professional. It is important that you do not drop the return package into a FedEx drop box!
Is there a recommended abstinence period before collection?
For most clients, avoid ejaculation for at least 48 hours prior to collection, but we recommend 2-5 days for optimal quality. This guidance helps support consistency, but individual circumstances may vary. Always follow the collection instructions included with your kit.
Are there any best practices I should follow during collection?
Yes. To ensure proper handling and processing, it’s important to follow the instructions included with your kit. In general, lubricants, saliva, or other substances should not be used, as they interfere with processing. Detailed guidance is provided with your collection materials.
Lab & Storage
Who processes the sample?
Samples are processed and cryopreserved by our CLIA-certified and fully licensed laboratory. The laboratory’s andrology professionals follow strict protocols with direct oversight by our Medical Director, a 30+ year practicing fertility physician.
How will I know when cryopreservation is complete?
You’ll receive confirmation once processing is complete, and you’ll have ongoing access through your secure customer portal.
How is my sample stored long-term?
Cryopreserved samples are stored securely in an FDA cryogenic storage facility certified to ISO 9001:2015 standards. This is the only fertility tissue storage facility certified to this standard of quality in the USA!
Is STI testing required?
For most of our clients, routine STI testing is not required to use Paladien. If you have questions about testing or would like to discuss available options, please contact us and we can walk through what may be appropriate in your situation.
Paladien can help coordinate testing services through a third party when appropriate.
Billing
Does the kit price include storage?
Yes! Your kit purchase includes one (1) year of storage.
What happens after the first year of storage?
After the included storage period, you will be automatically enrolled in ongoing annual storage at the then-current rate unless you cancel in advance through your Paladien Customer Portal.
Can I cancel storage later?
Yes. Ongoing storage may be canceled at any time, with cancellation effective at the end of the current billing period.
What happens to my specimen if I cancel?
If you cancel storage with us, you will choose to direct us to transfer your specimen to another storage facility or destroy the sample.
Telehealth
Is telehealth required?
No. Telehealth is optional. If selected, Paladien helps coordinate a consultation with a partner fertility doctor. Medical services are provided by the physician or clinic directly.
Does Paladien provide medical advice?
Paladien does not provide medical care. If you choose telehealth, medical advice is provided by the clinician you consult.
Can I speak with someone if I have questions before collecting?
Yes, depending on the question, a Paladien professional is likely able to answer most questions regarding collection and the collection instructions. For medical-related questions, Paladien can help connect you with our licensed fertilty physician partner through our optional telehealth option.
Privacy & Use
Can I be paid for my sperm sample?
No. Paladien is a private fertility preservation service, not a donor or public sperm bank. Samples are preserved solely for the personal use of the individual who produced the sample and are not purchased, sold, or distributed.
Is Paladien a public sperm bank?
No. Paladien is for private preservation. Your sample is stored for you use and is not part of a donor program.
Is my sample ever used by anyone else?
No. Samples preserved with Paladien are stored for private, personal use only and are not shared, donated, or made available to third parties.
